Graciella speaks. I channel her words, wisdom, and sentiment. -Theresa
The Prisoner: Graciella tells us that in many instances of feeling imprisoned in our lives that we are the ones that ultimately hold the keys to freedom.
During this time of stress and change in the world, we find ourselves tackling the concept of imprisonment. There are adults and children who have been separated and detained through no fault of their own. The paradox is that these peoples are the ones who were fierce enough to try for a liberated life. The idea of staying in places of poverty, hunger, and genocide prompted many to attempt escape. Instead of liberty they found themselves in places of division and hatred. Mothers had children torn from their breasts and arms. Young ones care for younger ones. The atrocities multiply in these situations.
There are very other situations in which an individual may stay imprisoned in a particular lifestyle due to fear of the unknown or the lack of belief that they are deserving of other types of existence. We often hold the key to liberation within ourselves. Our minds are sometimes the darkest places where we sit in deep gloom. The fear may be ours or they may be intergenerational.
Some of us need the words, the support, the deep compassionate understanding of others to help us to know that we can change painful existences. Some of us need help. Look to your left and then to your right. See the person or agency that can help you to achieve freedom. You are not alone.
In light and love,
Graciella and Theresa
