Friendship: Graciella suggests we savor the word friendship as it rolls in over our tongues. What a refreshing relationship!
Friendship is one of the few relationships in which we choose to take part. Sometimes it occurs by chance after an unplanned meeting. Other times we happen to meet in a place we’ve planned to be in such as a classroom or a workplace, but still there is that definitive choice to create a cherished and lasting bond.
The ability to forge a friendship that lasts lifetimes is a blessing. This relationship is one in which the participants may choose to keep as superficial or go as deep as being soulmates. Did we care so deeply about each other during our last few lifetimes? Is that why we chose to come back together?
Friendships are also purposely chosen in our family members and romantic relationships. Do you consider your mate or spouse your friend? The level of intimacy in friendships is a decision that can be made slowly. Enjoy your friendships, give thanks for them. If there is a sense of mistrust in a particular friendship, ask yourself why. What needs to be changed? Give it what you’ve got and hopefully your friend will do the same.
In the light of love and joy,
